You would have noticed a number of law changes this year such as kicking the ball backwards at kick-offs, different considerations on what constitutes a red card for denying an obvious goal scoring opportunity and players are allowed to stay on the field after treatment if the opposition player was cautioned or sent off for the incident. These new laws are part of 90 plus new Laws of the Game changes introduced for the 2017 season.

The International Football Association Board (IFAB) has released law change summary for 2016/2017 about the new and revised laws.

Alternatively you can read the full 2016/1017 Laws of the Game.

It was agreed at the GHFA MCM on Wednesday that a "no slide tackle" rule shall be implemented for all GHFA Over 45 competitions as of this Saturday, 8 Apr 2017. The wording is as below (click Read More), which has been finalised in discussion with GHFRA.

If there are no official referees at your Over 45 match, please ensure that the Club referees are informed of this new rule.

It's hard to describe the fantastic sportsmanship shown by our Premier League guys last weekend in representing the Club, but commentary of those at the match says it all. Congrats to all involved, terrific stuff!

Given the above, it would be great if the Club could get behind the Prems in their bid to raise funds for the McGrath Foundation this weekend.

Normo Premier League had a very successful day both on and off the pitch last Saturday. The Premier League Squad held a fundraising day at Normo Oval to support the McGrath Foundation. The Squad played in PINK SOCKS against West Ryde Rovers FC in the final round of the Premiership.

The McGrath Foundation aims to make life a little bit easier for individuals and families experiencing breast cancer. The Foundation creates awareness and also raises money to place specialist breast care nurses where there is need.

The squad was aiming to raise $3,000 for this worthy cause. At the end of the day, the Premier League squad had raised just shy of the $3000 mark with $1100 from canteen sales, $570 from the donation bins and over $1100 from the other fund raising activities.

Thank-you to everyone that attended on the day. Great work Prems. Congratulations on a big effort and a big result for the McGrath Foundation!

P.S. On the field, Firsts and Reserves had victories over WRR, and Firsts backed up on Sunday to win the match replay against EEW.
